Is the Term African-American Stupid or Necessary?

Is the Term African-American Stupid or Necessary?

I’ve encountered many conservatives and Republicans who have openly pushed for a complete omission of the word African being placed in front of American, because just being an American should be sufficient, as we are all one great nation. On paper, it’s a unifying idea, but in reality; it’s hypocrisy in its finest hour.

Occupy Wall Street Is The Voice of A Generation, Catch Up Here (Pics, Video)

The Revolution will not be televised, but it is being live-streamed right now. Right now as I write, thousands of people are marching through New York City to Union Square. Even as many news outlets dismiss, ignore and blackout the Occupy Wall Street rebellion, the movement is gathering force like a wave that soon will crest and smash on the shore of capitalism.

It’s Déjà Vu All Over Again: More Republican Hostage Taking

Once more the government is on the brink of a shutdown, just like it was last December and this past April. Once more, Republicans have pointed a loaded gun at the country and once more we get to see why the American people have nothing but contempt for their elected officials.

Mitt Romney: Too Much for Rick Perry, Concerning to President Obama?

Arguably, the most intriguing aspect of this entire debate was the ability of the candidates to morph this GOP nomination debate into a political referendum on Rick Perry, and Mitt Romney was the most vocal in doing that.

Can Toby Keith Save The Democratic Party?

Toby Keith – ‘I don’t know, but I expect the wealthy to write a check ’cause it’s as bad as it’s ever been. It would be unpatriotic not to try to save the country. I’m sure people will bitch about it, but if it meant we get to operate in this country and live here another day, then so be it.’

Yes, It’s Class Warfare. Do Something About It.

To hear most Republicans talk, class warfare is when the nasty politicians beat up on our country’s hapless, beleaguered millionaires who, if we’d just cut their taxes some more, would be vigorously creating more jobs.

A few days ago, Rand Paul did an interview in which he suggested that the Koch Brothers be sent to jail. Your Freedom: Sold To The Highest Bidder

There is a lot of talk lately about freedom, liberty and tyranny. Fear not, not-so-young tea partier, the government is not taking away our liberty. Where would the profit be in that? No, they aren’t taking it away. In true capitalist fashion, they are selling it to the highest bidder.

The Racists Think I’m One Of Them

I’m a bleeding heart liberal white woman from a suburb of Chicago. I work in a professional job. I’m not on government assistance. And many white people – racist white people, the people with attitudes about the poor, those on government assistance or young black people having babies out of wedlock…those people often think I’m one of them.

Addressing The Economy Will Require Walking And Chewing Gum At The Same Time

The more I think about the economy, and the mess it’s in, the more convinced I have become that neither side of the political spectrum has a clue about how to fix it. Both seem hopelessly locked into a narrative that, on its own, will not solve the country’s systemic problems.
